Brenchley21 is a Community Interest Company created to serve the Parish of Brenchley and Matfield. It’s purpose is to consider ways to safeguard our community primary school and explore ways to contribute towards the evolution and sustainability of our our villages.
Connection with nature
‘If there’s glass we might see nature like birds and breezes and leaves flying around and it might make you all calm’

It’s simply a win win
The school buildings were built on a budget and never intended to last forever, so a new school will significantly improve the learning environment for local children. Additional homes are needed in the villages and the inclusion of a mixture of 'downsizes' and affordable properties, with below market rents, is to be applauded.
‘I think the (Brenchley and Matfield) school project sounds like a fantastic opportunity so do please keep me up to date, and if there’s anything I can do to help just drop me a line.’
Better links to outdoor space
‘I like the doors onto the playground so we can go straight out to play and go out quickly if there’s a fire’

More Space to Learn
‘We will have more room inside and be less cramped’

Better facilities for children with special needs
‘When I do my extra work it’s in the classroom and it’s noisy and distracting.... in the new building special needs children can go to a quiet place to do their one to one work’
‘The lifts will help disabled people so we get more of a range of people at the school’

Brenchley21 – driven by desire
I support the Brenchley21 initiative because it is not lining the pockets of fat cat developers but is instead driven by the desire to provide our community with a fantastic new school!
Safer for our pupils
‘The new school will be a lot safer because we won’t have to cross the road’

Enhancing education for generations to come
A modern school building will support our excellent staff to further enhance the education of local children for generations to come. It will also improve the financial viability of the school by enticing more parents to entrust the education of their children to our school.

The scheme is constantly being refined and hence some of the drawings are already out of date, but it still serves to demonstrates the proposed concept, in order to stimulate constructive feedback from the community – which is always welcome.
