Building a sustainable future for our school and our villages

Having grown up just outside Matfield and now living near Brenchley the scale of new housing development being forced onto the region is troubling. Very large estates are being built with little if any thought for environmental impact and the devastating effect on biodiversity.

I support the Brenchley21 initiative because it is not lining the pockets of fat cat developers but is instead driven by the desire to provide our community with a fantastic new school as well as other community facilities and I am very impressed by the green credentials of the enterprise which are cutting edge.

What is more, when I suggested that the new school should provide more wildlife habitat than is currently on the site I was invited to join the Community Interest Company and get actively involved in the next phase.

If we have to have houses this, surely is the way to do it.”
